Position Overview

The Membership Development Representative is responsible for driving growth and expanding the credit union's footprint by acquiring new business partners and community relationships. Acting as a brand ambassador, this role focuses on outside sales, field prospecting, and creating meaningful connections with local organizations, businesses, and community members. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong business development mindset who thrives when working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Prospecting: Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new business partner relationships (SEGs/Select Employee Groups) to expand credit union membership.

  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with business leaders, HR managers, and community stakeholders.

  • On-Site Events & Presentations: Plan, coordinate, and host on-site financial wellness events, benefit fairs, lunch-and-learns, and membership drives for partner organizations.

  • Field Execution: Spend significant time out in the community and field, acting as the primary point of contact for external growth initiatives in the Scottsdale and surrounding market.

  • Cross-Selling Financial Solutions: Promote and present credit union products, services, and value propositions to prospective members during events and outreach efforts.

  • Strategy & Tracking: Develop individual outreach strategies to achieve membership and account growth targets; track and report prospecting pipelines and activity metrics.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Sales Experience: Minimum 23 years of proven experience in direct sales, outside business development, or account acquisition ( Required ).

  • Financial Services Experience: Prior experience working in a credit union, bank, or financial services institution ( Preferred ).

  • Self-Starter Mindset: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Communication & Presentation: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging with executive-level decision-makers.

  • Event Planning: Strong organizational skills with demonstrated success planning and hosting corporate or community events.

  • Mobility & Travel: Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the local Scottsdale/Phoenix metro area for field prospecting, client meetings, and events.
