Job Title: HR Generalist (Bilingual: Mandarin or Cantonese)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese to join our team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day HR operations, lead employee relations, support talent acquisition, and ensure seamless communication across our multilingual workforce. The ideal candidate acts as a cultural bridge, fostering an inclusive environment while maintaining compliance with local labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Culture: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries in English and Mandarin/Cantonese. Resolve workplace issues, conduct fair internal investigations, and support employee retention initiatives.

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Source, interview, and hire talent across various departments. Conduct bilingual orientation and onboarding sessions to ensure smooth integration for new hires.

  • HR Operations & Compliance: Administer health benefits, paid time off, and leave management. Maintain personnel records and ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local labor regulations.

  • Translation & Communication: Translate internal HR documents, company policies, training manuals, and announcements into Written Chinese (Simplified/Traditional). Facilitate real-time interpretation during meetings or performance reviews when needed.

  • Performance Management: Assist managers with annual performance reviews, progressive discipline processes, and individual development plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Language Fluency: Native or professional fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese (speaking, reading, and writing) alongside fluent English.

  • Professional Experience: 3+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience handling full-lifecycle HR duties.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification strongly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Core Competencies: Deep understanding of employment laws, high emotional intelligence, and exceptional cross-cultural communication abilities.
