Overview:
A growing title company is seeking a versatile Escrow Officer / Escrow Assistant who is comfortable handling both escrow duties and title processing responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone who can manage files from opening through closing while also assisting with title review, clearance, and preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage real estate transactions from file opening through closing and funding
- Prepare and review closing documents, including CDs, ALTA statements, and settlement statements
- Communicate with real estate agents, lenders, buyers, sellers, and attorneys throughout the transaction
- Order title searches, review title commitments, and identify title issues
- Clear title requirements, including liens, judgments, and other encumbrances
- Prepare title commitments, policies, and endorsements
- Coordinate and schedule closings, ensuring all conditions are met
- Assist with escrow-related tasks such as disbursements, funding, and post-closing follow-up
- Maintain accurate and compliant file documentation
- Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phones and assisting with client inquiries
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in escrow, title, or real estate closings
- Strong understanding of the full closing process from contract to post-closing
- Experience reviewing title commitments and clearing title issues
- Ability to handle both escrow and title processing functions independently
- Familiarity with title software (SoftPro, RamQuest, ResWare, or similar)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
