Our client, a title services company, is seeking a remote Software Tester to support testing efforts for EPIC. This role will begin with a defined testing project estimated at 100+ hours , with the potential to transition into ongoing contract work as new features, state rollouts, and enhancements are released.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands the practical realities of title production, enjoys detailed investigative work, and can clearly communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop and execute detailed testing plans for EPIC enhancements, bug fixes, and new releases.

Perform functional, regression, and scenario-based testing specific to title production workflows.

Accurately document test cases, steps performed, expected results, and actual outcomes.

Identify, track, and clearly describe bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
Analysis & Recommendations

Evaluate issues and provide thoughtful recommendations for resolution or improvement.

Validate fixes and enhancements once implemented by the development team.

Assess downstream impacts of changes on agents, underwriting, and state-specific processes.
Documentation & Communication

Draft clear update documentation suitable for publication within EPIC for agents.

Recommend and assist in drafting agent bulletins for:

Major releases

State-specific updates
-
Significant bug fixes or workflow changes

Serve as a communication bridge between programmers, ATGF staff, and title agents.

Participate in discussions with developers to ensure business and operational requirements are fully understood.
Rate & Premium Validation

Review and interpret state rate manuals (e.g., Colorado, Maryland).

Independently calculate title premiums and fees outside of EPIC to validate system calculations.

Test multiple file types and transaction scenarios to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Required Experience & Skills

Hands-on experience with title insurance production software (tester, power user, operations, or similar role).

Strong attention to detail and a disciplined, methodical testing approach.

Ability to create structured testing plans and thorough documentation.

Solid math skills and comfort working with rate manuals and premium calculations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical & Analytical Aptitude

Basic understanding of software development and programming concepts.

Ability to communicate effectively with developers regarding bugs, logic, and workflows.
