Job description
He/she will be responsible for guiding students in the selection of academic plans, ensuring that they meet their educational goals and individual needs. This role includes analyzing student profiles, implementing support activities to strengthen skills, and providing counseling to those at academic risk. In addition, he/she will be responsible for making referrals, maintaining effective communication with faculty and staff, and coordinating available resources to ensure student progress. Represents a key liaison between students and the institution, contributing to academic success with professionalism and commitment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage available academic plans, orienting students to their options and helping them identify alternatives that best align with their educational goals.
- Analyze the profile of students in high-risk situations, such as under 18 years old, exceptional admissions by the Admissions Committee, late enrollees or with difficulties in their academic progress, in order to offer them adequate support.
- Design and implement specific academic activities for high-risk students, encouraging continuity and strengthening their competencies for future terms.
- Advise students in the evaluation of their interests and abilities, developing with them both short and long term academic plans.
- Guide students with academic difficulties, including those under warning for not meeting the Standard of Academic Progress (SAP), ensuring that they receive timely guidance.
- Make referrals to internal and external resources based on individual student needs to ensure comprehensive support.
- Follow up with students with academic lags, connecting them with on-campus programs and services that support their development.
- Establish constant communication with faculty and administrative staff, facilitating the necessary support to meet the academic requests and needs of students.
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree completed in Psychology, Sociology, Social Worker or related areas.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the area of specialty.
- Complete mastery of MS Office.
