Assistant Manager of Titles
Overview
The Assistant Manager of Titles oversees daily operations of title closers and processors, ensuring accuracy, timely closings, and excellent customer service. This role assigns work, monitors progress, prepares closing documents, and may conduct closings. In the manager's absence, the Assistant Manager leads the department.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support title processors and closers to ensure timely, accurate transactions.
Assign work, delegate responsibilities, and monitor staff performance.
Assist with hiring, training, evaluations, and team development.
Prepare and review Closing Disclosures, HUD Settlement Statements, and related documents.
Resolve title issues including mortgages, judgments, and payoffs.
Coordinate with buyers, sellers, lenders, realtors, and other parties to ensure smooth closings.
Manage scheduling, wire transfers, disbursements, and compliance with procedures.
Support departmental policies, process improvements, and budget oversight.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
6+ years of progressive title insurance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Licensed Title Insurance Agent (Florida).
Notary Public.
Strong knowledge of title processing, closing, disbursement, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in title industry software and systems.
