Accountant
The Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting a company's financial information. He/she plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and in providing key information for business decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions, such as revenue, expenses, payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
- Reconcile bank and other control accounts.
- Manage and process payments to vendors and employees.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Calculate and file federal, state and local tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Keep up-to-date on current tax laws and regulations.
- Assisting in the monthly and annual accounting close process.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of final financial reports.
- Support in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Provide financial information to management for decision making.
- Keep up to date on generally accepted accounting principles and standards (GAAP).
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by superior.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.
- Two years of experience in the position.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience in accounts payable.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (Preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
